Born in Ft. Lauderdale to an active military family, Susan spent much of her early years moving from one place to the next, from the Hawaiian Islands to Germany; from Missouri to Washington D.C. and many places in between. Upon settling into civilian life Susan’s family bought and runs one of the most successful alligator farms in Florida, Gatorama.
Susan has enjoyed a career as a registered nurse practicing in Florida, Alabama and Texas and a highly successful Ostrich and Emu rancher in the Hill Country of Texas. She is considered one of the foremost experts on these exotic birds.
After many years of traveling Susan was very thankful to find Sanibel & Captiva Islands, a place she decided to call home. Susan is very active in the island community.
